This area is in the heart of the complex of Neolithic monuments, around Avebury in Wiltshire. Silbury Hill, (in the top left of the photograph), is a prehistoric, artificial chalk mound built about 4,750 years ago and is the tallest prehistoric, man-made mound in Europe. The West Kennet Long Barrow, just behind me, is a Neolithic tomb or barrow, situated on a prominent chalk ridge, near Silbury Hill. This is the view from the Barrow.
