Burchell's Zebra (Equus burchelli) occur in the northern and north eastern parts of Southern Africa. They prefer open woodland, open scrub and grassland and they are never far from water. They live in family groups, often joining up with other family groups to form large herds. They are social animals and there is a great deal of interaction between adults, as shown here.
