Newgale (Niwgwl in Welsh) beach is a 4.8 Km (3 mile) stretch of sand at Roch, Pembrokeshire, West Wales. The beach is backed by a large pebble wall, or storm beach, as defence against the high tides and it is situated in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Newgale is popular with holiday makers, windsurfers, surfers and canoeists throughout the summer months. As this coastline faces west, it is a great location for viewing sunsets, especially at low tide, when the low evening light can reflect off of the wet sand.
