Long Walk To The Sea
Noordhoek Beach, on the western side of the Cape Peninsula in South Africa, is approximately 35 Km (22 miles) to the south of the city of Cape Town. The name "Noordhoek" was taken from Dutch and means "north corner". It is best-known for its picturesque shoreline and its long, wide, sandy beach, which is about 8 Km (5 miles) long. It is right at the southern end of the spectacular Chapman's Peak Drive and, as it is part of the National Park Protected Wetlands, it has avoided the urban sprawl suffered by many other beaches. Anyone venturing down to this beach certainly has a 'Long Walk to the Sea".
